My research paper is about the different treatments for prostate cancer and this article reviews the cost barriers to cancer treatment.

·         Comment on the readability of this article. 

This article was fairly easy to read and understand the study and the results.

 

 

·         Course Topics covered:  The methods of data collection were covered and the research methods were used. Surveys were used to collect the data.

 

 

 

·         Brief Summary:  This article research the costs of cancer treatment and how it affects cancer patients from different races. An analytical cross-sectional survey was used to collect the data used in the research. This article focuses on the different costs of cancer treatment and how those costs along with insurance coverage can affect the amount, type, and quality of treatment for the patient.

 

 

 

·         Identify and attempt to explain three (3) terms, procedures or concepts that were unfamiliar to you when reviewing this article.  Disproportionate systematic random sampling is over sampling from what I got from the reading.  The Dillman Total Design Method is a system used in the order of conducting the survey.  SMOG is a readability test.

 

 

 

 

·         Detail the strengths/weaknesses of this article.  One strength of this article is its’ readability. It was easy to understand what was being said about the research. A weakness of this article was that the information provided was gathered by a survey and surveys can be unreliable in their content.

 

 

 

 

·         How might this article be useful to you in your further studies and career?

This article will be useful in my research paper because my paper is about the different types of prostate cancer treatments and knowing how much they cost will be of help. Going into radiology it will be helpful to know the costs of the different treatments offered for cancer patients and how it will affect them.
